More bank-owned homes are going on the auction block.
Beginning Friday, between 200 and 300 properties will be auctioned at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest near Cumberland Mall. The auction is scheduled to continue through Sunday.
Texas-based Hudson & Marshall said 319 properties were up for sale, but 84 properties already are under contract.
The company expects most of the move-in-ready homes to be purchased by owner-occupants. Investors are the big buyers of homes that need work. Almost two-thirds of the Atlanta-area homes require some repairs, Hudson & Marshall says.
On March 29, another condo auction will take place — 40 units at the Horizon highrise in northwest Atlanta — but those are not foreclosure properties. The condo auction will take place at the W Atlanta-Perimeter.
