The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department is proud to host the 1st ever Adult Doubles Tennis Tournament August 27 through August 29, 2010, at Alpharetta North Park, Wills Park, and Webb Bridge Park. Men’s and ladies doubles teams (levels AA, A, B, and C) may sign up online at www.tennisface.com by Friday, August 20th while space is available.
This three-day tournament will consist of 128 teams (256 total players) competing at three different City of Alpharetta parks. Based on a 16 team draw for each level, players will be guaranteed at least two matches. “There are so many people in Alpharetta who love the sport of tennis. This tournament will provide a fun and competitive opportunity for players to hone their skills and meet other players,” said Stephan Vodegel, tournament co-director.

Boys and girls age 7 to 14 are invited to sign up for the best sport on wheels! The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department’s Youth Roller Hockey registration has begun and continues through August 19, 2010. The cost for the roller hockey league is $100 for City Residents, $175 for non-residents.
All leagues are co-ed. Age groups offered are 7-9 year olds, 10-11 year olds and 12-14 year olds. Players may be moved up if approved by staff.
Persons interested in coaching should contact us for availability and more information.
Player evaluations will be August 23 and 24. Practices will begin September 7. Games will begin the week of September 27. All games and practices will be held at Union Hill Park, off of Windward Parkway.
