The winter weather roller coaster in Georgia may raise some heart rates again this week.
The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City has issued a Winter Weather Watch for most of North Georgia from 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11.
The weather watch includes all communities covered by Patch.
The weather service statement includes:
- MORE WINTER WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO AFFECT NORTH GEORGIA MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. A WINTER WEATHER WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MUCH OF NORTH GEORGIA FOR MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY AFTERNOON. HOWEVER THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY IN THE AMOUNTS OF SNOWFALL AND HOW FAR SOUTH THE SNOW WILL REACH. THOSE IN NORTH GEORGIA AND PARTS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA NEED TO MONITOR THIS SITUATION CLOSELY.
The weather service says as much as 4 inches of snow may fall in North Georgia Monday night into Tuesday — 1 to 2 inches in metro Atlanta.
However, while winter weather is expected, the exact amounts and areas of impact could change.
Also, “There’s a chance of a wintry mix again Tuesday night for north GA that will have to be monitored closely,” according to the NWS website.
