The Cumming Country Fair and Festival opened at 4 p.m. Oct. 4 with visitors streaming in the gates ready for food, games, rides and fun.
"Today's events are ready to go," Cumming Fairgrounds Director Dave Horton said. "We hope to have a record night."
While visitors can expect their traditional fair favorites, there are also new attractions as well.
"Every year we change up the ground acts and shows," Horton said. "We made some changes and added new things. This year we've added Robinson's Pig Paddling Porkers and All the King's Horses."
Brandon Densmore brought his family to the Cumming Country Fair, and he said they come to opening night every year.
"We try to come out before the crowd," Densmore said.
Horton said last year's attendance hit 127,563 for the week, and this year he is hoping to top that total by 10,000.
One visitor from last year was four-year-old Laila Anderson who returned this year on a mission.
Laila stood in line for the pony rides looking for Bingo, the pony she remembered riding last year. She had waited all year just to ride him again, and it was worth the wait.
"I like riding Bingo because he's so cute," Laila said.
