The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is launching operation Zero Tolerance for the holiday period. The ADPS reminds motorist to obey all traffic laws and use patience during the holiday period due to expected heavy traffic volume. The ADPS will be aggressively enforcing all traffic laws and issuing citations.
ADPS Director Gary George says “strict enforcement of our traffic laws directly leads to safer roadways for our citizens and visitors.” As part of the crackdown to ensure safe roadways, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety will be holding DUI enforcement checkpoints at various locations during the holiday period.
A large multi-jurisdictional checkpoint involving all GA 400 northbound exit ramps from Mansell Road to Windward Parkway will take place on 1-2-2010 beginning at 11:00PM. Participating agencies include the Alpharetta Dept. of Public Safety, Milton Police Department, Roswell Police Department and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The purpose of this checkpoint is to enforce seatbelt usage and to identify and arrest persons who are driving under the influence.
